The outspoken RMJM boss Peter Morrison launched an empassioned attack on “signature” architects who, in his opinion are merely acting as stylists and having a negative influence on the profile of the profession in general. This is not the first time Morrison has clashed with high profile celebrity architects, having had famous run-ins with Norman Foster and Rafael Viñoly in the past.
RMJM’s website explains that they believe “in a ‘more-than-architecture’ approach: a collaborative process encompassing planning, engineering, art, and sustainable urban and landscape design”
What is your opinion? Is there more to architecture that being a rock star? Think the ROM “crystal” for inspiration.
