The Academic Resource Centre at the University of Toronto, which opened in 2003, has been awarded an OAA 2008 Award of Excellence. The design of the project, which has been published in both Canadian Architect and Architectural Record, was developed using highly participatory methods and an “infrastructure” approah. The result is highly rational, flexible, and democratic space, as requested directly by users. The architects of record are RDH Architects with Mackay-Lyon Sweetapple Architects. David Premi was the project architect and team leader through all phases of the project. See links in the “Medi” page above for more information and full project descriptions.
Representatives of RDH, MLSA, and dp.Ai will attend an awards ceremony in Niagara Falls onĀ MAy 2, 2008 at the annual OAA Convention.
