Year: 2006
Budget: $15 million Project Architect: David Premi Architect of Record: RDH Architects with McKay-Lyons Sweetapple This prestigious project involves the creation of a new central library to serve the entirety of the Scarborough Campus together with a new 500-seat fully wired lecture theatre. The project included 18,000 square feet of renovated space and 80,000 square feet of new construction on two floors. Collaborative design sessions allowed us to facilitate a solution that met the needs of a diverse number of users groups and a complex program. Security was a particularly challenging aspect of the design. The project was completed on time and significantly under budget. The building was the recipient of an OAA Award of Excellence in 2008 and a Lieutenant Governor’s Awards for Architecture in 2004. |
