Two projects were undertaken simultaneously to create new Library facilities for both the Faculties of Law and Music. Much of the music library was built underground, lit by skylights and clerestory windows. Percussion studios located adjacent to student reading lounges proved particularly challenging solving the acoustics issues of the building. The total construction cost in 1989 was $15M.
