Transparency and accountability. The City of Hamilton, or at least the politicians , claim that these are important and often base their campaigns around those two words. There is enough fast-tracking of development in this city but unfortunately sufficient apathy exists as well based on past voter turn-out.
Perhaps if we could stop allowing such architectural blemishes from popping up our citizenry would be inspired to show their faces in public spaces(like the voting booth)and slow down the downward spiral of this potentially glorious city.
Look around, past the man-made features some of which are very thoughtfully crafted actually, but to the natural surroundings. Few municipalities in Canada can rival Hamilton’s intrinsic natural beauty. Let’s build on that.

Mr. Premi
I think a DRC is a great idea as long as committee members offer their services and input at no cost and perform the review in a timely fashion and propsals of the committee are not binding. Also the committee should not be limited the design professionals but have input from population at large.A stringant DRC will stiffle origiality and create banal design as designers will will in the long run bow to the percived demands of the DRC.We don’t need a city designed by a committee. I would be happy to be involved with such a committee.
